learning piano can be fun. Really.

simply music: simply a breakthrough in learning piano

background

Simply Music takes the natural approach to learning a language. We learned to speak long before we were expected to learn to write. This enabled us to easily gain a working knowledge of how language works before we began to associate the alphabet and grammar to our spoken words and sentences. The program both draws on and ‘feeds’ the natural sense of music we all possess, and teaches students to play the piano by immersing them in the actual process of playing.
You are playing from your very first lessons. The entire program is arranged into 18 Levels that can be completed over a 6 to 10 year period (depending on the individual student). Several “Special Programs” are also woven into the curriculum and these focus on such things as reading, improvisation, composition, arrangement and jazz etc. Each level of the program introduces new tools and learning strategies to help you become an independent musician.
The process equips students with the ability to become an independent musician. This includes building a vast repertoire, reading, writing, composing and arranging music, as well as accompanying others, improvising and understanding music theory.
Simply Music’s overriding goal is that students acquire and retain music as a lifelong companion.
