I N S T R U C T I O N F O R A D U L T S
For adults, I offer in-person lessons in the Phoenix, AZ area and online keyboard lessons from anywhere.
An Adult Approach
Learning a musical instrument as a hobby has many benefits for the adult. It enhances fine motor control, concentration memory, visual and aural discrimination, organizational skills, and goal setting. It can also stimulate right-brain activities— synthesis, creativity, intuition, and innovation.
Monthly Tuition
- In-Person Lessons are for 30 minutes per week; 44 weeks per year
- Materials are not included in the tuition fee.
- Tuition is payment for your course of music study and it reserves a weekly time in the schedule.
- Tuition for piano instruction is charged on a monthly basis and is due by the first lesson of each month.
I understand that sometimes things just don't work out. In the event you decide to discontinue lessons, please let me know at least 2 weeks in advance. The student should finish the remainder of the month or forego any unused lessons, as there is no refund given.
Achieving Your Musical Goals
Music study encourages abstract thought and stimulates right-brain activities— synthesis, creativity, intuition, and innovation.
Adults typically have different needs and goals than children when it comes to learning piano. I like to use a chord-based approach that gets adults playing songs quickly. The curriculum is well-rounded and includes lessons, theory, technic and popular repertoire.
Music Technology
After each lesson, all students are offered time on my computer to continue their musical learning. This includes helpful tutorials on music reading, learning games, and composition.
Music Gatherings
At least two informal concerts or recitals are held each year. All students are encouraged, but not required, to participate and have fun making music for each other. Concerts are usually webcast to the Internet. Online students are also eligible to perform via Internet connection.
Online Learning Center
All students have exclusive access to an online learning system with tutorials that follow most of the curriculum books I use in the lessons. Here, you will find video demos, audio files and practice tips for the pieces you study. It is very helpful for those times between your weekly lessons, when you need some extra help.
