Piano Instruction for Children and Adults
People learn in different ways depending on age and background. I use an appropriate mix of technology and printed materials and that enhances the total musicianship of each student.
Whether for children or adults, each lesson involves interesting learning activities and music of various styles. Music theory (reading music) is also included so you not only play the music, but you understand it, as well.
For local lesson, each student earns a trophy upon completion of each lesson curriculum level.

Achieving Your Musical Goals
A study published in 2000 revealed that music students possessing the ability to perform complex rhythms are also able to make faster and more accurate corrections in many physical academic and physical circumstances. -Center for Timing, Coordination, and Motor Skills, 2000
An Adult Approach
Learning a musical instrument as a hobby has many benefits for the adult. It enhances fine motor control, concentration memory, visual and aural discrimination, organizational skills, and goal setting. It can also stimulate right-brain activities— synthesis, creativity, intuition, and innovation.
Adults typically have different needs and goals than children when it comes to learning piano. I like to use a chord-based approach that gets adults playing songs quickly. The curriculum is well-rounded and includes lessons, theory, technic and popular repertoire.
I teach piano locally in Phoenix, AZ (USA) and online. For more information on learning the piano online, click here.
